FAQ
Is PO9 an app or a standard?
Section titled “Is PO9 an app or a standard?”Both — but the standard comes first. PO9 defines the .po9-skin format; the app is one way to use it. Anything can implement the standard.
What is a .po9-skin?
Section titled “What is a .po9-skin?”A single, portable file describing an AI workspace theme: a manifest, metadata, theme tokens, and assets. See the Specification.
Is it safe to import a skin from someone else?
Section titled “Is it safe to import a skin from someone else?”Yes. Skins carry no code and no network access, and the Validator re-checks every file on import. See Security.
Can I sell skins? Is there a marketplace?
Section titled “Can I sell skins? Is there a marketplace?”Not in v1. There is no marketplace, no paid skins, and no commissioning built in — PO9 is the standard and the tooling. A Gallery for featuring community work is planned for Phase 2.
Will my skin break when the spec updates?
Section titled “Will my skin break when the spec updates?”No. The spec is versioned with a compatibility promise. Breaking changes only happen on a major version and always ship a migrator.
Which workspaces are supported?
Section titled “Which workspaces are supported?”Any workspace that implements PO9 Specification v1. The PO9 app is the reference implementation.
